What can you say about Mario Mario that has not been written a thousand times? He is an adventurer, a golfer, a doctor, scholar, poet, football player, artist, and seven-time winner of ToadWimbledon. But one sport is his true passion, and that is racing. Over ten seasons into his career, we wondered what Mario was thinking during the hardships and challenges he faced during the 1996 season (his second).
So we unearthed a copy of his 2003 autobiography “Staying On Track” from a charity shop bargain bin. What follows is an excerpt covering the period of time just before the first championship cup up to the start of the second. Hopefully, this will give you, the reader, an enlightening view into the mind of a modern-day Renaissance man.
